🔒 Log in to trackBrowser shortcuts handle tabs, windows, privacy and history. Ctrl+T opens a tab, Ctrl+W closes it and Ctrl+Shift+T brings it back. Ctrl+H, Ctrl+N and Ctrl+D do different jobs in a browser than in Word or Excel.

Windows and privacy

Note: Incognito mode stops the browser from saving history and cookies on that computer. It does not hide your activity from websites or your internet provider.

Keys with double lives
The same key can do different jobs in a browser and in Office.

Rule: If the question says "in a web browser", use the browser column.
Why the browser keys matter
A browser holds many pages at once, and shortcuts save clicks. The tab keys use letters T and W. The private window key adds Shift to N. Learn these first because the exam asks them most.
Address bar and page keys
- Ctrl+L or F6 puts the cursor in the address bar.
- Ctrl+P prints the page.
- Ctrl+S saves the page.
- Ctrl++ zooms in. Ctrl+- zooms out. Ctrl+0 returns to normal zoom.
- Esc stops a page that is still loading.
